A) #Automatic Changeover Switches: -Enables the relay to be in 'On' position only while the genset is in use. -While functioning on main supply the relay remains in 'Off' position. -Minimal switch over time for main supply so that even sensitive equipment like computers do not get disconnected during the switch over. -On resumption of main supply, the connected load is automatically shifted on mains. -Automatic engine switch off system for portable generators (running on petrol/kerosene) when main supply is resumed. #The Auto Main Failure (AMF) Panel is connected to the genset by installing it up to a maximum distance of 3 meters from the genset. The operation is fully automatic. The AMF rotates the starting gear of the genset on tripping of the main supply putting the genset in operation in 3 seconds dot after the main supply is cut off. It also sends vice versa command for stopping the genset when the main supply is restored. The device is based on the latest technology and easy to install and operate. In case of non-starting of genset in first cranking of self, it will try to restart automatically after subsequent intervals of 15 seconds for 2 more times.

Does an Air conditioner make a power generating set consume more diesel?

A) The air conditioner will draw a current. When you draw additional current from the genset, you will create a "reverse EMF," or Electromotive Force in the stator. The resulting stator force will be transmitted as a torque to the drive shaft. In order to maintain constant speed and frequency, the governer will have to increase fuel intake to maintain constant speed.
